More Musing
Published on September 22, 2015.There are observations and situations that sometimes make me wonder.
Examples:
…The older you get, the less you sleep through the night without a bathroom call.
…Cereal boxes are never filled to the top…Soap bars now evaporate more quickly, and the single sheets in the toilet paper rolls are thinner.
…White collar criminals are too often lawyers.
(Oh, just noticed, the aforementioned follows the item on toilet paper.)
…KYW (1060AM) has a commercial for Comcast, repeated often, that tells the virtues of the Comcast business internet services. Sounds good. Until the last sentence: “Not available in this area!”
…College students are paying $40,000/year, and more, for a fair amount of information they can have from their grandparents. Free!
…Cars have blind spots. So far, that has cost me a driveway bush, and a mailbox.
…Pennies rusting on the ground. Am I the only person that picks them up?
…Seems like everyone gets some kind of money dole from government, one way or another.
…Stores offer “Buy One. Get One Free.” Has the one you’re paying for been doubled in price to allow for the “free” one?
…You’re watching your favorite TV show, or sports event, and at the most critical part of the show- -the phone rings. UGH! And if it’s a close family member, you have to pretend they have your full interest.
…When driving on a bridge over a body of water, have you ever thought what would you do if your vehicle somehow plunged in?
…Have you experienced within yourself a mental clock, that upon going to bed, and wanting to get up at a specific time…you do awaken at that time?
…The “little girls” voices on radio commercials sound like adults squeezing their nose to give the impression of a child.
…When a friend boosts of their using a new Internet item, such as Bluetooth- -and you have no idea, at all, on what it is or how to use it- -and then it breaks down…
…It feels so good!
…With major segments of the populations, whenever they may be, on cellphones, have you wondered: “What are they talking about that is so important?”
Following is not my last thought
My son Bob, the nationally respected surgeon, recently asked me to send him written instructions, to be tucked away, on how I want my last day handled.
I told him:
“I want my family at bedside singing to me the Doris Daylight song: “I’ll See You In My Dreams.”
And, I want to die of old age, at 106 years- –and then I want an extension.”
